Emergency/Urgent visitsIf you feel like this is urgent or an emergency, OSMC has very limited in person appointments available. You will not be able to choose your provider. Call 4102688862 for these appointments. You will be screened to make sure in person is appropriate and safe

New patients and New Problems (non-emergency): We are doing limited new patient or new problem evaluations. This includes any ongoing problem that you want to be seen for or any new problem that is not an emergency. We will be able to skype so that questions about where the problem is, what specifically hurts, range of motion, etc can be done. Additionally, i have set up a drop box account so that you can send me any imaging you may have already xrays, MRIs, etc prior to your appointment. please see the links below for instructions.

Follow Up visits of existing problems: Most or all follow ups can be done via telemedicine. please follow the instructions below to set this up. Exceptions being cast care and appointments that require xrays.You may have Dr. Petre or may have one of his partners if you do require an in person appointment.

Post Op Appointments: Post ops that do not need in person services (cast, suture removal or imaging) will be done via telemedicine with Dr. Petre. Post op appointments that need in person services will be done with either Dr. Petre or one of his partners depending upon the day that it is set up.

Injections:All injection appointments are currently on hold/cancelled until we get word that we can return to normal schedules. If you would like to discuss your care, convert your injection appointment to a follow up telemedicine appointment instead

Connectivity: while i prefer to use our built in EPIC MyChart telemedicine features, the surge in demand for these has created some connectivity issues. The federal gov't has lifted the hipaa restrictions on some 3rd party video chat applications: If MyChart does not work you can connect to me via multiple other platforms:

Telemedicine Visit with Screen Sharing for Patients

Save time by connecting with your provider through a Telemedicine visit! The information below details the steps needed to conduct a digital visit with either your smartphone or tablet, as well as a computer.

Requirements for this type of telemedicine visit:

You must have an active MyChart account
You must have the My AAMC MyChart app downloaded
Internet access (either via smartphone, tablet, or computer), that has a camera, microphone, and the VidyoConnect desktop/mobile app installed (see the following for installation options)

Instructions for Conducting Visits from your Computer

1. Head to www.mychart.aahs.org and log in using your username and password. From the main screen after signing in, select the Telemedicine visit from the To Do section. Alternatively, you can also select Visits > Appointments and Visits from the main toolbar to view and select your telemedicine visit.
2. After clicking on the appointment in your MyChart account, click the visit title once more to open
3. The Telemedicine Consent form hyperlink displays along with a quick link to begin the video visit. Complete the consent form by clicking on the link once. Then whenever you are ready to begin your visit, click the Begin Video Visit link.
4. In a separate browser tab, you will be prompted with two options for joining the call: either via the app which must be downloaded on your device, or by the web browser. Click the green download button to save time for future Telemedicine visits. Once the download has finished, click the file in the lower left corner to run the application.
5. Your computer will begin installing the software automatically for you. Once finished, the VidyoConnect application will open. Be sure to click the check boxes next to the terms and conditions, then click join.
6. Until the provider joins, your screen will appear as so. Use the icons across the bottom of the window to turn up the volume, mute yourself, turn off your video, and more. When finished with the call, click the red phone icon in the lower left and close the window. That’s it!

Important: Dr Petre has electronic access to the following imaging companies. Any imaging done at these companies does not need to be uploaded! All others should be uploaded.

To upload:

Insert the imaging disc into YOUR computer.
navigate to the CD, and open the files. On a windows computer this is "explore", Mac uses the "finder" to get there. Do not open the autorun program that comes on the CD.
Your CD will likely have a folder on it named DICOM or IMAGES- you need to compress this folder into one file. Right click on it (windows) or "command" click it (mac) and "archive" or "compress" it
Your computer will work for a while and generate a file that has the whole image folder in one file. name this file with your legal name and date of birth.
